First Tee of Naples/Collier

2018 Winner; Golf to Paradise —First Tee Champions Challenge

Q: What are some tips you would offer to First Tee Champions Challenge participants
coming to Naples?

A: I would tell the other participants coming to Naples to just relax and have fun. Don’t stress
or worry so much about how you play just go out and have fun and I’m sure you’ll play well
if you do that. Taking in the experience is very important. This opportunity offers so much to
the players and they make sure to make it extra special for the participants. Be in the
moment and make the best of it.

Q: Why did you get into golf?

A: I started golf when I was about 6 years old. My parents liked to play a lot for fun and

signed my sisters and I up for a summer camp every year. We all really liked the summer

camp and met my current coach who has been my sisters personal coach as well. Ever

since then, the love for the sport grew into a greater passion.

Q: Who’s your favorite golfer?

A: My favorite golfer would have to be Tiger Woods. He is the perfect representation of the

core value, perseverance. He faced many challenges in his life but as we can see he doesn’t let that get in the way of what he loves.

Q: What did the First Tee Champions Challenge win mean to you and your partner?

A: Winning the First Tee Champion Challenge with my partner Vivian, was something I’ll never forget. We simply just had a good time. We went out there everyday with reasonable goals and we exceeding them tremendously. We bonded during this tournament, and we worked really well as a team. Vivian is one of my closest golfer friends and we love playing with each other, we will forever be the dream team!

Q: Did the tournament inspire you to become a pro golfer?

A: The tournament did not inspire me to become a pro golfer but it taught me to love the game even more. It showed me that the golf foundation is such a good place to be involved in. It offers so many opportunities that I am forever grateful for so far. This event brought to me many new friends and showed me how everyone is different but we all share the love for the game.

Q: Did the First Tee Champions Challenge encourage you to travel and play different courses?

A: The Champions Challenge has encouraged me to get out and meet new people. It has taught me how to socialize and open up to people I just meet. I have played many gorgeous courses since and I hope to continue to have those opportunities and privileges thanks to the First Tee program.

Q: What have you been up to since your First Tee Champions Challenge win?

A: Since the win my love for golf has grown. I was given the opportunity of a life time to play at Pebble Beach in the Pure Insurance championship. I don’t know what I’d do if I wasn’t involved in the First Tee program. They continue to teach me and guide me through life and golf. I am forever grateful for the friends and coaches that I have met. It has truly changed my life and I can’t thank this program enough and everyone who has gotten me to where I am today.
